Week of September 9th - September 13th
We are continuing our study of "Atoms and Elements" with the Periodic table this week!
Essential Question: How are elements arranged on the periodic table? How can the properties of elements be predicted based on its location in the periodic table?
Objectives:
- Describe that as you move from left to right in a period (row) on the Periodic Table, the number of protons increases by one.
Assignments: Please access assignments and daily slides (notes) using TEAMS through OneView.
- Periodic Table Doodle Notes (Lesson 3)
- Periodic Table Scavenger Hunt (Lesson 3)
- Alien Periodic Table (Lesson 4)
- Penda: Periodic Table (online through blended learning)
- Achieve: "Molecule Movie" and "There's Gold in that Ocean" (STANDARD ONLY)
- AOM: "We are Stardust" (ADVANCED ONLY) - submit and upload on FOCUS
- Family Photo Album Project (ADVANCED ONLY)

Objectives:
- Describe that as you move from left to right in a period (row) on the Periodic Table, the number of protons increases by one.
∙ Describe that
elements found in the same group/family (column) have the same properties.
∙ Recognize that
elements are grouped in the Period Table of Elements according to their
properties.
∙ Predict which elements would have properties similar
to a given element.Assignments: Please access assignments and daily slides (notes) using TEAMS through OneView.
